CD/DVD protection
CD/DVD protection
We also offer our customers different types of copy protections.
Here you can find types of protections:
HexaLock
The above-named protective device serves to prevent unauthorised copying of the optical data carrier. Its use can be applied only in CD-ROM format. The content is then functional only if the original carrier is present in the computer’s CD-ROM drive.
• 100 % resistance to all available “cloning” or emulation applications
• Short time required for identification of carrier (<1 MB)
• Short time required for identification of carrier (< 500 ms)
• Very simple application by means of supplied software instruments
• Protection of application – executable file EXE
• Protection of a wide range of files of the type: DOC, PPT, PPS, HTML, PDF, MPEG, JPEG
CD-Audio
Cactus Data Shield
- is a system of the CD audio titles protection against the digital copying of CD Audio titles.
At the present time there are three protection processes available:
CDS-100 - such modified CDs audio have a limited access to the audio area. They are fully playable in the CD desk player without any possibility of accessing to the PC. Therefore it is impossible to listen to the disc on PC, to copy it digitally either to the hard disk or optical carrier, or to compress it in MP3. The maximal length of recording is 77:18.
CDS-200 - these CDs audio contain the audio area and furthermore the data area, which enables the playing on PC. The audio area remains protected as in the case of CDS-100. The data area contains encrypted music, which can be played by means of the present program - player provided that the original CD is inserted into the PC-ROM drive. However the data area occupies a part of the disc capacity, the size of which depends on the selected quality of sound recording determined by bit flow of the compressed format. From approximately 73 minutes at the standart quality, up to approximately 69 minutes at the highest quality. If the standard quality is selected, then it is possible to consider as sufficient quality the reproduction quality from common PC loudspeakers (earphones).
CDS-300 - this CD audio is similar to CDS-200 as for its structure. However it has more options. Enhanced protection of the first audio area. It uses DRM (Digital Rights Management), which enables a certain possible manipulation with the disc content. It is possible to permit the copying of the content on hard disc, and to play the content by means of the application Windows Media Player. It is possible to permit a limited number of copies on the CD-R carrier or on the portable player with the support WMA. Enhanced application for playing in the computer with the possibility of inserting the background, the names of compositions or the access to internet sites with bonus materials. Similar as with the CDS-200, the length of recording depends on the bit rate of the data area.
DVD protection
Macrovision ACP
ACP - Analogue Copy Protection
By means of ACP it is possible to add to the output image stream a signal, which will influence the possibility of copying of the content with use of analogue output.
The DVD disc or VOD (Video On Demand - image stream transferred within the network of the cable or satellite television) fitted with this protection, initializes in the player an electronic circuit, which adds the above-mentioned signal to the analogue video output. The signal disables or in a significant way distorts the copy performed on the basis of the analogue interconnection between the player of source disc and the recording device such as VHS recorder, DVD recorder or PC.
CSS
Content Scrambling System
Is DRM (Digital Rights Management) schema used for the protection of DVD with the DVD-Video content.
This system of protection permits the reproduction of the DVD content only in an authorized player. It does not enable to copy the data containing the image material on another carrier and to reproduce them from this carrier. The protection is provided by means of the encryption of data, which can by played on the device, such as a physical or software DVD player, the licence of which is registered, and which contains an appropriate set of the decoding means. There is encrypted the access both to the disc itself and to the particular parts of disc, or to particular sections of data containing the image.
